Science can be inherently beautiful, and even when it isn’t, humans have the ability to make it so. Case in point: this week’s Yale Environment 360 features a set of 3-D LiDAR images of the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. The images are color-coded according to physical, chemical, and optical properties of the forest and will be used to improve local conservation efforts. The work was conducted by the Carnegie Airborne Observatory, based out of Stanford University. You can read the full article here.
